The UK space sector is expanding. With innovations ranging from revolutionary rocket engines to satellite systems for maximising crop yield, the space industry is the fastest-growing sector of Britain’s economy. Director


An £8.4 million (€9.5 million) investment in Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall, South West England, will help create the world’s first commercial deep-space communications station, capable of tracking future missions to the Moon and Mars. LEP Network


A career in the space sector isn’t just about being an astronaut on the International Space Station. Most people working in the industry are scientists and engineers who have come through a university, but there are also opportunities for motivated young people who want to study and learn through an apprenticeship, or for people from other sectors who’d like to apply and adapt their skills to the specialisms of the space industry. 4wardFutures is researching the current and future career opportunities the space sector offers and how these may develop over the next five years.

A series of workshops and events will then be developed through which  people  will be able to find out about  the current and future career opportunities in the space sector.
